  1. 1.The sponsoring body makes a submission to the EDB in order to establish an IMC for its sponsored school

  2. 2.Send a draft IMC constitution (in triplicate) together with a completed covering form (Form IMC-2a) to the School Registration & Compliance Section

  3. 3.The Permanent Secretary may approve the draft constitution if she is satisfied that the operation of the IMC in accordance with the constitution is likely to be satisfactory (the sponsoring body will be informed of the approval)

  4. 4.The sponsoring body nominates sponsoring body manager subject to the constitution of the IMC

  5. 5.Teacher manager election is conducted in accordance with the constitution. Guide for Teacher Manager Election

  6. 6.The sponsoring body shall send the List of Proposed Managers (Form IMC-3) and the Application for Registration as a Manager (Form 6A) to the School Registration & Compliance Section

  7. 7.Once the proposed school managers are registered, the School Registration & Compliance Section will issue a Certificate of Incorporation. At the same time, the name of the IMC, together with the name, tenure of office and category of each manager will be entered in the Register of IMC

  8. 8.The IMC shall give notice in writing (Form IMC-4) of the assumption of office of the first supervisor to the School Registration & Compliance Section within 14 days after its establishment

Parent Manager

9.Parent-teacher Association and Alumni Association have to review their constitution for the purposes of being recognised by the IMC

10.The IMC shall recognise a body as the recognised parent-teacher association of the school

11.The recognised parent-teacher association shall conduct the parent manager election within 3 months after the establishment of the IMC

Alumni Manager

9.Parent-teacher Association and Alumni Association have to review their constitution for the purposes of being recognised by the IMC

10.The IMC or the sponsoring body, as may be provided for in the constitution shall recognise a body as the recognised alumni association of the school

11.The recognised alumni association conducts the alumni manager election. (If no person is nominated by the recognised alumni association, the IMC may nominate the alumni manager in accordance with the constitution of the IMC)

Independent Manager

9.The IMC nominates the independent manager in accordance with its constitution within 1 year after the establishment of the IMC

(According to Section 40BU of the Ordinance, a planned aided school shall submit a draft of the constitution of the proposed incorporated management committee not later than 6 months before the scheduled opening date.)
